\nThere were around 50 historic vehicles on display in the CACMC area on the main arena at Queanbeyan Showgrounds, not to mention those parked with other specialist clubs. The weather was fine and the grass on the arena was mostly green, making a very pleasant day with minimal dust. The Club team arrived early to set up our marquee and information tables in prime position next to the vehicle entrance.<\/p>\n

\nSeveral cars were new to the club \u2013 including Matthew Houston\u2019s 1923 Alvis Ducksback and John Tuckey’s unique Rochdale Mustard.<\/p>\n

\nThe Rochdale Mustard was hand built by John\u2019s father, on a tubular frame powered by a Ford Anglia motor. The Mustard got a thorough check-over by CACMC\u2019s diligent team of examiners. Doing the assessments for the Club\u2019s annual trophies are (L to R) Graham Bigg (legs only), Joe Micallef, Waine Summerfield, Malcom Noad (reclining) and Bob Alexander. \nRod Greschke\u2019s glittering 1929 Dodge DA was awarded the Wheels organizers’ \u201cGuest of Honour\u2019s Prize\u201d. Karl Maftoum\u2019s sturdy and very original 1950 Lanchester LD10 got an honourable mention in the same category.<\/p>\n

\nThe plucky Austin A30 used to be everywhere but is rarely seen these days, even at historic car events. Here Dave Byers pays proper respect to Rob Mihalyka\u2019s immaculate 1956 A30.
